Frequently Asked Questions

We’re sure you have a ton of questions, so we’ve included the most frequently asked
ones for your convenience. Anything not found on the list, simply call or email.
We’re happy to answer all your questions and put your mind at ease.

Simply give us a call! Our office staff is available Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. After an initial phone call, and we both want to move forward, we will schedule a free evaluation!

We offer non-medical services like companionship, light housekeeping, medication reminders, light laundry, grocery shopping, meal preparation, showering and grooming supervision. We can also assist with transportation to doctor appointments!

Always An Angel Homecare staff and caregivers observe and respect all HIPPA regulations.

It is not an easy thing to let a new person into your home. Our caregivers or “angels” as we have come to affectionately call them, go through a rigorous vetting process. From interview, orientation and graduation into our ranks, every caregiver must have reliable professional references, a national background check, a motor vehicle report if applicable and that special twinkle in their eye before they can join our legion of angels.

Every employee is fully insured, bonded and covered by workers’ compensation.

Should your caregiver become ill or need a day off for personal reasons, we do our best to offer a replacement caregiver if requested.  If you still need to get to bingo at the senior center for Monday Bingo Madness at 2pm, we can search for a replacement caregiver during the time your regularly scheduled caregiver recovers or has to take care of personal matters. Many clients have multiple caregivers, which can come in handy when your caregiver’s availability changes, or as we lovingly say “life happens” and they can cover for each other!

At Always An Angel Homecare, we’re all about communication! If it is not an issue that can be worked through together with the caregiver, we have many caregivers in our “pool” to hopefully find you that perfect guardian angel for you. Every caregiver has his or her own strengths, personality and style, which becomes evident in their work. Our Scheduling Coordinator and Quality Assurance Representative work hand in hand with one another to make sure that you are content with your caregivers, and will regularly “check in”. Being honest with our office staff about how things are progressing with your caregiver is crucial so we can best accommodate and/or serve your needs. Our motto is simple – Communication is key!

Two 4-hour shifts or three 3-hour shifts a week are our minimum of services. Some folks just need a little bit of help to get started in the morning and a bit more in the evening to retire to bed.  For these clients, on a daily basis, we offer a special two hour minimum prefaced with “if we can staff it”.

Of course! We may specialize in senior homecare, however we are not limited to it! As long as you are over the age of 18, we can request an exception from our insurance company.

Absolutely not! We have many clients that are residents in various assisted living and rehabilitation/nursing home facilities! Caregivers or “angels” make wonderful advocates as well as make sure you are getting the attention you deserve and need to live a dignified and comfortable lifestyle no matter where you are.

As a non-licensed, non-medical agency, we are not approved at this time with Medicare or Medicaid. Most clients pay privately, however, our list of working relationships with long-term care insurance companies is constantly growing as well. On top of that, we will even submit your monthly claim to your long-term care insurance provider on your behalf for your reimbursement at no extra cost!

When there is a will, there is a way! Unless there are truly hazardous driving conditions or a state of emergency, caregivers try to get to you as punctually as possible depending on where they are traveling from to you. Our caregivers’ safety is always a consideration, so we monitor each situation respectively.

Every caregiver must both clock in and out for their shift through their client’s home landline using our homecare software. If a caregiver does not clock in or out for whatever reason, our office is notified immediately with real time updates. This means you aren’t left to wonder if caregivers showed up on time. We follow up regularly to gently affirm and enforce your established schedule.

That depends on how many hours you desire! Some may require around the clock care, multiple shifts on the same day, or shifts varying throughout the week at different times when the same person just might not be available for every shift. That isn’t to say, however, that it never happens! Once again it depends on the degree of services that you desire and from there we work very diligently to establish an accountable schedule to your liking.

Not at all! Our agreement is “at will” so at any time you may discontinue our services without penalty. We only ask that you provide ample time and notification of terminated services, so we may find a new case for our caregivers. If you need to cancel a specific shift, we require a 24-hour prior notice.

No. You will be invoiced after the completion of services every two weeks. You never pay the caregiver directly. Always An Angel Homecare manages all employee pay, payroll taxes and W2s.

We make it easy and simple! Our software is set up to automatically process your payment by ACH or credit card every two weeks after we have confirmed and approved your schedule. Any additional time logged with your caregiver will always be confirmed with you first before being processed. A copy of your paid invoice is sent to you by email for your convenience. It’s that simple. We know life is busy, so it’s one less thing that you have to worry about.

Praise From Our Clients

“We felt so lucky to have her visiting my Mom daily in those final months“

My Mom’s caregiver at the end of her life, Anna, I believe, had developed a wonderful relationship with her, and took the time to bring her food she knew she loved, to encourage her to eat, and to have conversations with me after each visit to update me. We felt so lucky to have her visiting my Mom daily in those final months.

It proved to be exactly what we needed and the communication was excellent throughout the whole experience. “You went above and beyond a number of times “

I loved how much effort you made to please T. Rae. I felt like I could always contact you with any issues or if we needed extra help. You went above and beyond a number of times and we will always remember how much better her last years were with you & your caretakers. So glad to hear you are still helping people out.
