I go home with a sense of peace knowing I did a satisfactory job because she eagerly looks forward to me coming back, which she has told me on more than one occasion.
Personally, I have helped my client maintain a sense of calm when her anxiety is getting the best of her by helping her focus on the positive in her life. I cook, do laundry, run errands, and sit and spend quality time with her.
My favorite memory is going through old pictures and hearing the stories behind each one…it brings joy to both of us.
Lastly, I would like to add the office staff are always available for any situation I’m having with a solution to help. The staff looks out for the caregivers the same as they do for the clients.

I do many things for my clients ranging from cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and taking them to doctors’ appointments. I help with their hair and makeup and paint their nails! are all so very special to me.
My most memorable client must be Martha! Although Martha could be rough around the edges, she had a heart❤️ of gold! Martha was the one person who could really make me laugh. I mean the kind of belly laugh that makes your stomach ache! Martha had no boundaries and would ask the most personal questions. Not just to me, but total strangers! She got us into trouble often, but we always laughed about it. I miss her so much. Martha will always have a special place in my heart.

I’ve been working for ALWAYS AN ANGEL HOMECARE since November 2019 shortly after my move to New York. I greet my client with a big smile, eye contact and a warm greeting to start our day off right! Quality engagement, meeting my client where she is at and having fun is what it’s all about. Seeing the smiles of recognition on my client’s face brightens up my day. My client and I go for walks. We look at magazines and I read to her. I also redirect her when needed.
My favorite memory with Lee was when the facility held a glamour day for the residents. This was an opportunity for them to dress up and take beautiful pictures. They had access to the salon for hair and makeup, accessories such as jewelry, hats, scarves, and sunglasses to don. The way her face lit up when her makeup was being applied will be a memory I will always cherish.
Plus, the office team is easily accessible and quick to respond and resolve any issues that come up.

My client didn’t want a caregiver at all, but I changed her mind in a couple of days when she realized I didn’t fit her perception of an aide.

My role is rewarding because my client “always” greets me with a great big hello and tells me she is happy to see me. (But by 1:00 she is tired and ready for me to leave…ha ha ha.)
I will do whatever she wants me to do. I help prepare breakfast and lunch. I help my client in and out of the shower and help with her dressing. I clean up the bathroom and vacuum the apartment. I take out the trash and get the mail and sweep her two patios. She enjoys the Sunday Bulletin from church which I bring on Monday mornings…and she truly appreciates it.
I have many good memories with my client, but I think one of my favorites was when Roberta arrived on my client’s 99th birthday with a dozen red roses. Roberta took pictures that day and just a few days later, she came to my client’s house with two collages, one for my client and one for me! So beautiful, so thoughtful. My client was so happy. She couldn’t wait to show the gift to her family.
I truly would like to end by saying that whoever matched my client and me did an excellent job. And I thank you for all your help and support.

Going the extra mile, going out of my way to pick up that special item my clients need blesses them. Also, helping with a dying or sick animal can be very sad, but I lend a lot of much needed support during those times. Daily, I provide meal prep, shopping, and animal care. Some of my favorite memories with my client is sharing holiday meals together.

I truly believe that God led me to Steve and Roberta, Founders and Owners of ALWAYS AN ANGEL. They are truly trying to do the work of the Lord. They don’t think of themselves as bosses but as servants of God here doing what they were called to do. It was my birthday November 6th, just started a job November 2nd.
Roberta learned it was my birthday and that I had no family around. She promised she would bring me a cake. I waited all day, no car, no knocks, then a call they both had to go out to Connecticut on business so they will stop by on their return. I went to bed as it was cold where I live up here in Garrison…far, lonely and a long ride away from them. So, I said, so be it. It was beautiful she even thought about it. But low and behold…at about 8 o’clock, the doorbell rang. They not only brought me cake but a dozen yellow roses plus sugar free cupcakes for the client who was diabetic. They came in, prayed for me, sat, talked, chit chatted. I felt loved, I felt appreciated, I felt gratitude that they made the time to make someone else happy.
Bosses like these are rare, people who are in business rarely seek after clients’ or employees’ welfare or wellbeing. I lift my hat to them and to their son who drove me that day when I was so devastated. The office team, thank you. For those who choose to do business with this company, it’s not only a business it’s more like family. They care, they truly care and are GOD-FEARING PEOPLE. I am happy and proud to be a part of this here, they are changing lives.
