A Message From Roberta, Our Founder and President:
Hello Host of Angels! When I think of you, I remember your generous spirit when our fellow caregiver was in need last year when her house burned down. You gave from your heart including clothing and cash and she was greatly blessed.
Desiring to bring our host of angels together for two reasons – to develop a sense of community and be a blessing to the community – we have created ANGEL OUTREACH.  Angels along with office staff will have an opportunity to support and/or donate either their time or resources to help a worthwhile cause.
So please contact our office with your ideas for future projects – organizations and/or needs that are dear to your heart that together we can make a small difference. Thank you for your anticipated ideas, participation and generosity.

CURRENT ANGEL OUTREACH – COLLECTIONS FOR THE US DESTROYER USS DONALD COOK
For our next Angels Outreach,  we thought it would be a wonderful idea to do something for our military. The US Destroyer USS Donald Cook is who we had in mind! This ship has a crew of 306 and is part of the U.S. 6th Fleet which is forward deployed to Rota, Spain serving Europe and Africa. Steve and Roberta’s son Alexander P. Velichko is currently on the USS Donald Cook as a FCA4 [DONALD COOK CF DIV].
We would like to collect toiletries and other items for the crew and we would like to collect enough so everyone would receive something. I know this is a big request for our Angels, but we are sure that you can all help us accomplish this!
Suggested items we would like to send are: shampoo, bath soap, body wash, hand sanitizer, deodorant, sunscreen, toothpaste, tooth brush, lip balm, chap stick,  body powder, foot powder, shaving cream, razors, eye drops, dental floss, cough drops/throat lozenges, baby wipes, Icy Hot, Bio freeze, magazines, crosswords and word search puzzle books, pens, notepads, stationary and envelopes. The best food to send is beef jerky, trail mixes, Pringles, candy that won’t melt and well-packaged cookies and crackers are safe bets. (Cans and jars are very heavy and expensive to ship so please avoid these). And a note of encouragement and appreciation for their service would be great. Please drop off any items that you purchase to the Always An Angel Homecare office by the end of July.  Any questions, please email or call.

ANGEL OUTREACH – THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE – NOV 2018
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH to everyone who donated food items to our Thanksgiving Food Drive….we collected eight bags of food.  May we take this opportunity to say we are VERY GRATEFUL for our caregivers and acknowledge and thank them for all they do to love and serve our clients.  From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

ANGEL OUTREACH – SPCA OF WESTCHESTER – AUG 2018
Our first community project involved one of our own angels…Patty Hevern. Patty works full time at the SPCA and part time with us. On her behalf, we collected about 25 gently used but clean blankets and towels for bedding for the SPCA of Westchester.

The SPCA of Westchester is a not-for-profit, no kill shelter located in Briarcliff Manor, NY. The SPCA cares for kittens, cats, puppies and dogs. Many of these animals are from neglected homes or homes where they are no longer wanted. The SPCA provides veterinary care, good food, clean water, clean kennels, toys, human contact, baths and even some training.
